A new report about the 76,000 pedestrian deaths over the past 15 years in America. Ne such victim was young Tiara Rosa, a pedestrian killed in Richmond las January. This happens because the transportation infrastructure in America is so car-centered that any other form of transports is under-funded and neglected.

In Richmond, there are many streets with no sidewalks at all and there are very few bike paths i the Richmond metro area. I am of the opinion that if you build the facilities for pedestrians and bikers to use, then they will use it and the amount of pedestrians will increase.

This is much more important as Virginia is taking away people’s driver’s license because they can’t pay their traffic tickets.
