Woman sentenced for fake car crashes.

Teresa R. Gallop of Norfolk, VA was sent to prison for seven years for insurance fraud.

Gallop would tell her teenage son and his friend to deliberately crash their vehicles together, after which she and her children would climb into the vehicles and say they were injured in the accident.

This type of behavior is inexcusable and should be strongly punished. This is the type of thing the insurance companies will crow about for years to come in their quest for tort reform.

I doubt many people are engaged in this type of behavior, but the ones who do this are ruining the system for everybody.
